Net Zero Community Not-for-profit Rural Affordable Housing

Developed with funding from the Low Carbon Communities Grant, this affordable 12-unit housing development will be operated by a local community group as part of a large-scale mixed-use residential development. PDS consulted early on with both the community non-profit and the developer to create a unified design aesthetic with Net-Zero performance.

A pocket neighbourhood was proposed and designed within the context of a larger commercial land and housing development that allows services, land, and infrastructure costs to be shared with the larger development—a crucial factor in the project’s financial viability.
